From I-95/Rt. 128: Take exit for Rt. 9 East, towards Boston. Follow approximately 6 miles. Pass underneath a pedestrian overpass with a rainbow painted on it. A couple of blocks after the overpass, turn right onto South Huntington, there is a Texaco gas station on the corner. Follow directions from South Huntington.
From Downtown Boston: Take Huntington Avenue/Rt.9 West towards Brookline/Newton. You are following the Green Line "E" trolley. When you see a Texaco station on your left, turn left onto South Huntington, following the trolley tracks. Follow directions from South Huntington.
From South Huntington: Follow south through approximately three lights. Take a soft right onto Centre Street when you can no longer go straight. Follow Centre Street through downtown Jamaica Plain. The Loring-Greenough House is directly across from a stone monument, at which point Centre Street intersects with South Street. (Centre Street curves to the right and South Street goes straight.) The Loring Greenough House has a wrought-iron fence around the property.
By Subway: Take Forest Hills Orange Line train to Green Street or Forest Hill Station. (Green Street Station: Turn left out of station and walk up Green Street to Centre Street (approx. 15-20 min.) Turn left on Centre and follow about 3 blocks; Loring Greenough House on left directly across from the stone monument. Forest Hills Station: Exit out of the South Street staircase. The stop for the 39 bus will be directly behind you to your left. You can take the 39 bus to the intersection of Centre and South Streets. OR You can walk across the street from the station and go up South Street for approximately 15 minutes. The House will be on your right immediately after you pass Curtis Hall.)
By Bus: Take #39 bus from either Back Bay Station or Forest Hills Station to Monument stop, directly in front of the Loring-Greenough House at the intersections of Centre and South Streets.
